My approach to real estate is one that is constantly changing simply because I understand that no two people are alike. I was brought up to take on challenges with open arms and a full head of steam. Real estate is by no means an exception to this. Each day it seems I realize more and more what this community has to offer. It can accommodate, as well as any other community, people from all walks of life. Those who enjoy the outdoors can walk a mile in any direction and be able to sit under a beautiful canopy of trees and enjoy our beautiful four seasons. Those who enjoy music and the arts can catch a live show most any night in any of the dozens of night clubs, cafes, and art galleries that this region has to offer. For the young families and those already established, Cortland has the educational system with all the essential ingredients to raise a healthy and well-rounded child. Our company has been building relationships for over 60 years with thousands of proven results. The results of a real estate transaction are relatively short term, but the relationships that we build in doing so are life lasting.

Jamie was born and raised in Cortland County. Attending Homer High School, he was passionate about lacrosse and music— participating in the 2001 Empire State Games and winning awards for Male Athlete of the Year and Jazz Band Musician of the Year while graduating with honors. In 2000, he was a guest musician in the fantastically popular Apple Jazz festival.

Upon graduating from Homer, he was recruited by the University of Massachusetts to play Division I lacrosse. He went to UMass on an athletic scholarship. UMass teams that Jamie played on advanced to the NCAA playoffs in three of the four years that he was on the team, making the quarterfinals twice and, in 2006, playing in the National Championship game.

During his tenure with UMass, Jamie was awarded the 2004 UMass Lacrosse Hammer Award and the 2006 UMass Lacrosse Goose Garber Award, signifying the most unselfish player with the best attitude and of a team player who demonstrates the qualities of the late Coach Dick Garber.

Jamie graduated from UMass with a BA in Real Estate Management and Development; emerging a motivational leader with unrivaled capabilities as a team player.

Jamie spent the spring of 2006 volunteering at elementary schools in Massachusetts and continued volunteering around the world in elementary schools in India before returning to his hometown where he joined his grandfather in the family business, Yaman Real Estate. In 2007 Jamie also obtained his associate brokers license.

Having a clear vision of exactly what my short and long-term goals were upon entering Real Estate, it was not difficult choosing the Real Estate Broker I wanted my Real Estate Business to be associated with.

Mr. James Yaman, in my opinion, is the “Patriarch Of Real Estate”, as well as, the “Grandfather of Cortland”. Touched by tradition, and well known for his competitive edge, while upholding his integrity, I knew I would be a perfect fit.

As a Real Estate professional, I invite home buyer’s and seller’s to depend upon me for sound advice while relying upon my meticulous ability to handle details.
If I were asked to define myself, I would point out my commitment to service and my sincere passion for people. My tract record of hard work and professionalism enables me to put you at ease and engender the confidence required to smoothly bring your transaction(s) to fruition.

Using the latest Internet marketing tools to help you select the home that suits your families needs or expose your property to the widest possible range of qualified buyers, I will always be listening to you and will work tirelessly on your behalf. My goal is to save “you” time, money and worry, in your Real Estate transaction(s)

My Employment History includes working with the public through Retail Sales for over twenty years, with ten of those years in Retail Management.

After receiving my Real Estate License in July 2008, I continued on with my education completing my last Graduate Real Estate Institute, (GRI), course in November 2009. A Realtor earns the GRI designation by completing the Realtor Institute Program developed for members of the National Association Of Realtors and offered through State Realtor Associations. Courses cover a wide range of topics from Marketing and Servicing Listed Properties to Real Estate Law. Receiving a GRI designation indicates an increased level of skill and professionalism to a Realtor’s clients and colleagues.

I have also continued on to receive Certification of Training in other Real Estate related fields such as:

* Code Of Ethics Training
* Asbestos Awareness
* How To Find Those Comps(Listing Homes Comparable Homes)
* Short Sales And Foreclosures…What Buyer’s Reps Need To Know
* How To File A Complaint(Assessment Grievance Procedures)

My past personal passions included, but are not limited to:

* Serving on my Community School Board
* Girl Scout leader
* Co-Chairman of my community 4th of July committee
* Community Parade Chairman
* Served on Community School PTA

After twenty years as an independent contractor and owner of a successful local salon, I pursued a career change. I sought a new career that would challenge me, and provide me with new opportunities and allow me to learn something new. Working with people was paramount on my list of requirements for a new position. Entering Yaman Real Estate, I got a license in real estate and became sales agent in 2004 and I have never looked back.

I currently reside in Groton with my husband, Robert. Though we are ’empty nesters”— our three sons are grown and out on their own–I view this as a new chapter in my life and welcome the “flexibility” that being an empty-nester allows.

While I have seem to have uncovered my real estate niche in student housing, investments and land, I also enjoy working with residential buyers and sellers; I view each listing and/or sale as a new opportunity and enjoy a good challenge. Blessed with the “gift of gab,” quickly puts my clients at ease and enjoy forging a long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationship with everyone I work with!

I was raised in Groton, NY about 10 miles from Cortland, NY. After graduating high school I attended Elon College in North Carolina. I returned to this area after college to help in the family restaurant business for a few years until we sold the business. I then went on to employment in a Cortland manufacturing business for sixteen years until 2002.

I have always had a desire to work in the Real Estate field, so I went to school and earned my license in 2003.

Living here in this part of Central New York, it is easy to understand why people want to locate here. The beauty of this area with all of its recreation possibilities is endless and housing is very affordable.

So, please give me an opportunity to find that special property you have been searching for.

As a third generation Central New Yorker, I’ve seen this area go through many changes. One constant, though, is that no matter what’s going on in the world, Cortland, and the surrounding communities, continue to thrive in commerce, education, culture, agriculture, and more. From the wineries to the apple orchards, the family farms to the top rate educational facilities, Central New York is a fantastic place to call home. My husband and I have raised our own daughter here, and hope to, one day, enjoy watching our grandchildren grow here as well.

When I was younger, I worked in a variety of fields including retail and customer service, living and working in Florida, Massachusetts, and North Carolina. As an adult, I pursued my college career right here in the Cortland area. I graduated from Tompkins Cortland Community College in 2003 with an Associates Degree in Social Science, from Cortland State in 2005 with a Bachelors in Sociology, and also took a variety of graduate courses at The Maxwell School of Syracuse University. I began teaching sociology courses at Tompkins Cortland Community College in 2005, and also coordinated the Career and College Connection for the Cortland Youth Bureau. I’ve found that nothing is more fulfilling than helping people achieve their dreams, which is what ultimately led me to pursue a career in real estate. As with anything else I put my mind to, I approach the real estate business with dedication and enthusiasm, under the expert guidance of Jim Yaman. Let me help you find the home you’ve been searching for, or find a buyer who is looking for a home just like yours. Together, we can make your dreams a reality.

I am a native of Cortland and raised my family here. I can’t think of a better field in which to work applying my accounting and business education and experience and actively use my Real Estate license. Yaman Real Estate is definitely a pro-Cortland place to work with an outstanding record of serving their clients and the community.

Buying and selling real estate can be exciting and stressful for the first time home buyer as well as the seasoned buyer. Whatever your reasons, I take pride in the ability to listen to your needs and assist you throughout the entire process.

Cortland is my adopted hometown, having lived in the northeast and Midwest throughout my life. After living 20 years in the Finger Lakes region, I chose to live in Cortland. It has the benefits of a close-knit community, such as family-friendly neighborhoods, service, natural beauty, entertainment and safety. I also chose Cortland because of the accessibility of airports, shopping, and all of the things that make upstate, ?the heart of New York?.

When I was eighteen, I began my love of homes by ?remodeling? a bedroom in my parents? home. Since then, I have bought, built, remodeled, rented and sold many homes. I have the knowledge that comes from good and bad experiences. I have the knowledge that comes from working with ? and really listening to – agents, brokers, lawyers, banks, contractors, assessors and homeowners. I will be your advocate and your partner throughout the process, sharing ideas, offering options, and putting your goals first.

I look forward to sharing my love of this area and of homes with you.

After many years of owning and operating independent grocery supermarkets where “the customer is always right” I thought the Real Estate Profession would be a perfect fit! After seventeen plus successful years, I love what I do… listing, counseling, and selling Real Estate. It also enables me to promote the beautiful region of central New York where I have lived my entire life.

Currently an Associate Broker and Sales Manager, I served as Board President in 2000, elected Realtor of the Year in 2000, was very active for 6 years on the Board of Directors, have been a Multi Million Dollar producer every year, and earned the Seniors Real Estate Specialist Designation. I love to work with both Buyers and Sellers of any age!

* Married-3 great married children-6 wonderful grandchildren (3 boys and 3 girls)

* I love sports, family events, boating, coin collecting, antiques, and living by the water.

I would welcome the opportunity to meet you and/or assist you with any or all of your Real Estate needs in a friendly, caring, and professional manner!
